Christmas is here....

Perhaps it's the anticipation building up to the holiday that everyone loves so much. Maybe it's the Christmas plays and performances, and kids choirs that make it so special. Or it's the time with the family that we so enjoy. The work up to Christmas is always SO exciting....but sometimes when it arrives...it's kind of anti-climactic. You still enjoy the time...but you are so sad that it's over.

Why is that? Why do we feel that way...? I think it's because we can forget about the real reason for the holiday. God sent his very son, Jesus, to the earth to accomplish more than any of us can even begin to fathom--knowing that outcome that his son would ultimately have to face.

It's so easy to dismiss the Lord's coming and get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the highly advertised and commercialized season. Is it wrong to participate in all of those other things? No, not in my opinion...let's just not forget...the real meaning of Christmas.
