The Master's

(Click on pictures, they are best viewed large)

I (Daniel) had the unbelievable opportunity of attending The Masters practice round and Par 3 Tournament yesterday with my brother-in-law, Ben. My soon-to-be sister-in-law, Katie, hooked us up with afternoon tickets to see some of the best golfers in the world! It has been a dream of ours to see one of the most famed courses in the country, and we were not disappointed. The landscape was phenomenal, the azaleas were beautiful, the grass seemed impossibly real, the storied holes were legendary, and the golf was superb! Not only did we see Fred Couples hit a hole in one, but we were only feet away from Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicholas, and Gary Player....among many others (Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Vijay Singh, Zach Johnson (he won the Masters last year), etc.). Sadly, Tiger took the afternoon off, but being able to walk the course and see the precision with which these golfers play with was truly amazing. I've selected a few of the over 300 pictures taken yesterday to give you a glimpse of what we were a part of. The rest of the best photos will be posted soon.

p.s. the picture below of Ben and me was taken by an old guy who must not have been able to tilt the camera down....but that's ok.

A Blur...

Boy...this weekend was really a blur....Friday we had the Elevation Band (from both campuses) over for a cookout. It was so fun to have everyone over....and to share our home. Daniel grilled LOTS of hotdogs and burgers....enjoyed by all.

Saturday...we were able to get our Christmas Tree, wreath...and ornaments (it rocks...pictures/video to come tomorrow)....and then we ran home...to celebrate an early party in honor of Daniel's birthday with two of his sisters and their spouses/child. Again we grilled out and had such a great time...Daniel got a lego set from his family that is an'Advent Calendar' for 2007 counting down for Christmas. My husband is a huge lego fan (NO jokes, I happen to think it's way cute...besides a degree in Architecture from U of Michigan...lends itself for a liking to building/designing things).

Saturday evening we had the pleasure of going over to our friends Lisa & Dave's for chili and dominoes. We learned how to play and now we are hooked! They were wonderful hosts and it was just too fun!

Of course, Sunday we headed off to church for the early service....and then to the driving range. (I have my own clubs, thanks to my husband...) and we hit and putted a while (video below)...and last but not least, my sweet husband treated us to The Cheesecake Factory. AHHHHHHH. What a great day!
