Did I mention that...

....while I was home for the weekend, my parents, grandmama and I scored tickets to a National viewing of the movie, Unaccompanied Minors . Now it's definitely a teen movie...my parents and g-mama LOVED it...I thought it was cheesy....but it's a good family movie.

I am getting my ring sautered and appraised today for insurance. I feel lost without it. It should be done right before Daniel and I come down to Anderson for Niffer & Mama's wedding.

So...yesterday I finally MOWED the lawn. I don't know why I have put it off for so long. I have a small yard...and it takes all of 30 minutes with my push mower...so why do I dread it sometimes. After mowing, I normally feel really good and productive. I love looking back on the yard and having it look great! The inside is always cleaned, but the outside isn't always mowed. Eventually though, if I don't take pride in the outside, the inside may suffer as well.

I think that can be applied to our lives now...a lot of times we don't want to spend the time necessary to 'prune' things in our lives. It only takes moments to pray, spend time in the word and just spend time with the Lord. It doesn't require big tools, just a bit of time. Often times we put it off and spend that time watching tv, talking on the phone, shopping, athletics, and the list goes on and on. The inside may be fine now, but eventually it will suffer as well if we don't take care of it.

When upkeep is so easy and so rewarding, why do we neglect it? Are we lazy? Are we afraid what we may find or what it may cost us? Just a thought.

We'd love to mow the lawn right now...we can't even SEE the lawn! Its all covered with many inches os snow...so we're shoveling here in Michigan - can't wait until you can come and join in the fun!

I thought the same thing as Nancy said...mowing vs shoveling? Hmmmm, now that is the question.

Love your thought process. How true, how true.
