All-Inclusive.
That's one thing I like about cruises. They are all inclusive....food, fun, lodging and the beautiful ocean...all at your fingertips. It's amazing....(wait for it...you'll see where I'm headed with this one..)
As an 'update' on the friend deal...God has really been refining us. Daniel and I have put our neck out and have really reached out to those around us. We still feel far from where we want to be....but God has SO encouraged us.
One of the biggest things I have learned about myself, and I think Daniel would agree. I have learned how important it is to include people. I think about times when I knew that I should included other's or invite others--and I didn't. Why? It was inconvenient, I was selfish...there were many reasons. Now...as Daniel and I have ventured out into the married world...we've learned that some friendships (even family at times) require you to have children to be friends with them...while there are others...that don't have 'openings' in their lives for new friends.
I must say that I am changed for this experience...and I thank the Lord for the way he has taught both Daniel and I to make those around us feel included, important, encouraged, edified and more.
That's all. More pictures to come soon. PS the new blog look is to allow us to post larger pictures ...all of our links can be found at the very bottom of our page.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Breaking Through.
I have a confession. Daniel and I aren’t perfect. We get that a lot from those who read our blog, but don’t really know us well. I guess on blogs, we can portray any sort of image we like, and there can be a danger in that. But the truth is…there are things that Daniel and I would really like to change. For instance, it has been SO hard to make friends here in Charlotte. Well, its felt nearly impossible. Daniel and I both had great friends from where we lived before…but in Charlotte…it’s been impossible to break through. There are those that will speak with us at church (our main social outlet), but beyond that, it’s stagnant.
We miss and long for the close relationships. We’re not sure why it has been so hard…maybe it’s hard to find married friends where both the husband and wife get along with the other husband and wife. I have to believe it requires us doing our part…and we really feel like we are. It’s hard to break through already established groups of friends as well.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d be perfectly happy to it only being Daniel and me for the rest of eternity….but I think friendships can really enhance our lives along the way. Here’s to patiently waiting as God sends us to others and others to us. I trust He’s written our story and I am truly looking forward to what’s next.
**Just to be sure you know. Daniel and I are happy…we have friends that live outside of Charlotte…and love you guys so much. We also have a great small group…and love those homies to death. They’ve added so much joy to our lives, and we are so thankful for them.**

Before & After.
So...we have quite a few before and after's for you.
The first is...Daniel re-sealed our cedar shakes in the front of our house. SO nice ....
The second is...my hair was 16 inches long...and it's now less than 6 inches long (in the front..shorter in the back.) That's right folks...I got my hair cut yesterday...and donated it to Locks of Love . Daniel came and documented the whole thing...I'll post the pictures after lunch today (I have a few more to edit...) I'm so pleased with the outcome. I didn't think I was really doing anything of note, until right as JB was about to cut the long part of my hair off.....a lady in a chair on the other side of the salon said,
"are you donating your hair to locks of love?"
i told her, "yes"
she said, "that makes me so happy to see, I am a cancer survivor and I am moved when I see people giving to others, the way others gave to me."
Tears. Yes..I didn't realize the magnititude of sharing my hair with someone else until that moment.
So...if you can, share your hair with someone else.
Transformation pictures to come....after lunch...so check back with me.....
....Not only did we have a great time with the hair cut...but we had some friends over for dinner. It's always fun to get to hang out with other couples and figure out new things about people. My husband is also THE most fantastic host ever. Thanks Daniel, you are just awesome.

Christan & David......Barnett
I was not the hired photographer but a guest at the wedding of a dear friend of mine, Christan (Lambert) Barnett. Her wedding was exquisite, as is she. Here are just a few snapshots from the afternoon. They aren't my best, b/c I was trying to make sure that I didn't steal the shots from their photographer. It was a beautiful occasion.
p.s. Their photographer and my friend, Haley Lamb, does wonderful work in the Augusta area....and you should check out her stuff...AMAZING. to see more Christan & David pix ....click here.
umm. one more post from today..below. read it..or be square.

Friends.
I have great friends. When Daniel and I returned from our honeymoon...my parents went on and on about how great our friends were. They went above and beyond for us with their time, wisdom and gifts.
Daniel and I are starting a new life in Charlotte, and the one thing that's hard to come by is...great friends. We invited some of our dearest friends to the wedding and our April reception in Michigan. The crazy thing is, there are really only a handful of people we would call with good news, ask to come on our vacations, and share our lives with. Friends, thank you for being that-you know who you are.
So to all of my friends that made our day about us, and came from near and far... Thank you. Words cannot describe what you mean to us.
Who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure.

Flea Market....
God is SO SO good, even when I feel like I least deserve His grace. He's good.
This weekend was Daniel's first in the south...and the weather couldn't have been MORE beautiful. Daniel has been sick since Thursday.....boo. He's still fighting a cold/sinuses/congestion...but the fever and the worst of it has passed. But...he's a trooper....and is getting better...as we speak.
We were able to leave Friday for Columbia to hang out with friends and family and go to the Flea Market! Daniel and I sold ALL my Mary Kay, all our tools and clothes...and we left with hardly anything left!! HOORAY! I will post a picture or two soon.
Then Saturday night we drove on down to Augusta to hang out with my family....AND to have a cook out with my mom's stepbrother and his wife...SO fun...we were able to have a housewarming party to celebrate the move in of their almost 4000 square foot home. It's BEAUTIFUL.
Other than that...we are just getting it all together before Daniel and I get married. Interviewing, combining accounts and all of that other fun stuff!
More to come soon....till then...enjoy the weather....12 more days! HOLLA~
