You can search for it on iTunes by the following keywords, "elevation worship we are alive" .

Speaking of Elevation Worship...continue to pray for our worship leader Wade Joye and his wife Ferris' twin girls. They have overcome insurmountable odds through the prayers of so many of you...We are believing for complete and total healing for them. Please visit here (Ferris' Blog) for detailed prayer requests and/or here (Wade's blog). They are both sharing very candidly this area of their life...and I believe that so many people will be inspired and changed by it.

Throwbacks.

I love music. It's at the top of my list of things I love being a part of. I love the way a song can totally move you, whisk you away and take you to another place. I have had some of my best and worst moments AND most all of my favorite memories can be accompanied with a song that takes me there, somehow.

So...I've decided to make it my goal to dig down and find all of my old favorites and have a day of throwbacks each week...possibly intermingled with some of my new faves...

Throwbacks
Like This & Like That --Monica off of her Miss Thang album (listen to this and you'll be bobbing your head in no time....download...you know you want to!)
Before You Walk Out of My Life--also Monica off of her Miss Thang album
Why I Love You So Much--last one off of Monica's Miss Thang album
U.N.I.T.Y- Queen Latifah off of her Black Reign album
Paradise- LL Cool J & Amerie off of his 10 album
All I Have- J. Lo ftg. LL Cool (this one was downloaded by accident...but it was a beautiful mistake)
Weak--SWV for anyone that grew up in the 90s...this was a Walkman Essential. Love it.
I'm So Into You--SWV (you'll have your windows down and the speakers bumpin with this one)

Have a Happy Wednesday...lots of pictures are about to be posted....this week....wait for it...

Police Never Die (Year 2)

Dave Barnes just happens to be one of my favorite musicians as well as entertainers. If you have not seen him live, well, you should. He's hilarious .....here's his Christmas tribute from 2006, but I felt it necessary to share again.

May your smile grow large from this video.

Confiscated.....

Can I just say.... I HEART STEVIE WONDER MUSIC! The man is amazing. Daniel and I went to see him last night at Bobcat Arena. He sang for about 2 1/2 hours. His live band was amazing...and he sounds just as good live as he does recorded. The man was SENSATIONAL. I get chills just thinking about the music.

While there we of course took our FLIP camcorder. We had our bags checked at security with it in plain view. We see thousands of others using cell phones, cameras and other electronic devices..so we recorded a few videos. No harm, no foul, right?

Close to the end of the show, one of the staff people pointed at us and motioned for us to come to the end of the aisle and ushered us out of the concert to a side thing. There we see several cameras and other electronic devices that have been CONFISCATED. Ours became the next victim. We were able to pick it up after the show.

It's a laughable moment now...but it wasn't funny at the moment. We felt like two school-kids that had just gotten in trouble and were being taken to the principal's office.

Stevie said that his song SSD had a lot of life left in it, and should be re-recorded by a country artist. Then he proceeded to give an example of how it could sound, country. Hilarious. See it here.

Dear Rappers, Hip/Hop and R&B artists,

I love your beats. I love your cool harmonies. I love to exercise to your music, but lately, you're all making it very hard to continue listening to your music. In fact, I've had to be more than selective with my choices from your music. This makes me so sad, when the forefathers/foremothers of your music actually had lyrics that fought for social change, shared love and made music about things that mattered and made a difference.

Why has your journey taken such an abrupt turn?

I have to ask myself this question, can I actually justify listening to lyrics that degrade women, encourage violence and show a lack of intelligence in regards to choice of language/slang?

It breaks my heart. I was your biggest fan for a long time, but I cannot justify supporting your lyrics and I can no longer convince myself that your 'beat' is enough reason to listen to your music.

I once heard a music artist say, 'I feel such a responsibility to stand for something and to be a role-model to kids and fans listening to my music. It's like I've been 'elected' by my fans to a political office, and I am responsible for the choices of my music that affect so many.' That couldn't be more true.

So until you decide to 'clean up your act and stand for something,' I'll continue to be selective and disciplined for what will be allowed to enter my ears and make it's way to my heart.

A saddened listener,
Candice

Typical

Come on, can’t I dream for one day
There’s nothing that can’t be done
But how long should it take somebody
Before they can be someone

‘Cause I know there’s got to be another level
Somewhere closer to the other side
And I’m feeling like it’s now or never
Can I break the spell of the typical

I’ve lived through my share of misfortune
And I’ve worked in the blazing sun
But how long should it take somebody
Before they can be someone

‘Cause I know there’s got to be another level
Somewhere closer to the other side
And I’m feeling like it’s now or never
Can I break the spell of the typical

I'm the typical
I'm the typical
Can I break the spell of the typical

Because it’s dragging me down
I’d like to know about when
When does it all turn around

‘Cause I know there’s got to be another level
Somewhere closer to the other side
And I’m feeling like it’s now or never
Can I break the spell of the typical

Elliott Yamin....Movin' On

Yes Elliott fans. He has moved on...and iTunes has his WONDERFUL newly released single out called, Movin' On.... It's good. Very good. Rhythmically pleasing....reminds me of my boy Donny Hathaway....seriously...except fresher ....(We all know that Donny rocks...but...his lyrics can get a bit depressing).

Listen to it on his myspace here. Like it? BUY IT on iTunes!

Completely

Completely
Ana Laura

Click here to listen to her song on myspace.

The secret of life is letting go
The secret of love is letting it show
In all that I do
In all that I say
Right here in this moment

The power of prayer is in a humble cry
The power of change is in giving my life
I’m laying it down
Down at your feet
Right here in this moment

Take my heart
Take my soul
I surrender everything to your control
And let all this is within me lift up to you and say
I am yours and yours alone
Completely

The journey of life is a search for truth
This journey of faith is following you
Every step of the way
Through the joy and the pain
Right here in this moment

Right here, right now, and for the rest of my life
Hear me say

I am yours and yours alone
Completely
